This year’s Wales Sportive in Tenby had the added incentives of expanded road closures, restrictions and diversions, making it the most comprehensive closed road ride in Wales. And, as the biggest multisport festival in Europe, the Long Course Weekend attracts over 12,000 athletes, 36,000 supporters from 44 nations, competing over three incredible days.
On a bright and beautiful July early morning, Nick and Phill eagerly joined the mass of over 3,500 athletes taking part in this cycling event, both coming in with respective sub 5 hour times for the 70 mile Sportive. They can be seen with their hard won, non-alcoholic, isotonic cans of liquid refreshments just after passing the finish line – and still both still able to manage a smile.
